It was great seeing so many of you at the 2022 DAV & Auxiliary National Convention in Orlando, Florida, last month.

For those who attended, I hope you enjoyed your time and walked away inspired and excited about what DAV is going to do in the coming year. For those who couldn’t make it, we hope you’ll make a point to attend next year’s convention. And if you’ve never been to a convention at all, please consider it as a fantastic perk of being a DAV or Auxiliary member. Next year, we’ll be in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Aug. 5–8. You won’t be disappointed.

Not only do we get to reunite with our fellow veterans, but we also get to do important work that will make the lives of veterans and their families better.

On the membership front, one thing I covered in great detail during the Membership Seminar was MyDAV.org. This is a self-service membership tool and reports repository open to all DAV and Auxiliary members. As many of you know, our legacy membership system had performance and user experience issues. MyDAV.org provides similar capabilities but more effectively and efficiently.

Registration for MyDAV.org is a two-step process. First, you must go to mydav.org/member-registration and click the “New user registration” link below the login button. As you fill out the required fields, be sure to enter your correct membership number. You’ll also create a username (typically your email address) and password.

After you submit the form, you’ll receive an email saying that it can take up to two business days to process your application. Keep an eye out for that second email confirming your account.

Once you’re granted access to the portal, you’ll be able to login at MyDAV.org.

The home screen of MyDAV.org is a menu of all your options. You can view and update your membership profile, update your service record, submit a membership transfer request, make and review payments, and submit notifications of deceased members.

If you’re a department, chapter or unit officer, you’ll also have access to a report repository. We’ll be adding more reports and the capability for you to submit officer election reports and annual financial reports soon.

As DAV leaders, I need your help in spreading the word about MyDAV.org and training others on how to use it. It’s a great tool that will benefit our members by simplifying many tasks.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, you can always reach out to me and my team at [email protected].
